Download and Access

Accessing the Accelerator

The Snowpark Migration Accelerator (SMA) is available as an application that can run on MacOS or Windows. Getting up and running is quick and easy.

Start by reviewing the system requirements. If your looking for the download links or more information on access codes, you can find that further down this page.

System Requirements

Before you download, make sure your machine meets the minimum system requirements:

  • MacOS

    • Ventura 13.3.1 or higher

    • 4 GB of RAM or higher*

  • Windows

    • Windows 11

    • 4 GB of RAM or higher*

*The amount of RAM available affects the speed of assessment and conversion executions and the amount of code that can be processed at once (more is better).

The Snowpark Migration Accelerator will run using .NET 6 and it's shipped in a self-contained package so you don't have to install any dependencies

Before you download, if you're into the legalities of the SMA, you can view our End User License Agreement (EULA) in the general section of this documentation.

Support

If you encounter any issues in the download, installation, or setup process, let us know! Send a message to sma-support@snowflake.com. We'll get you up and running again.

Download the Application

The SMA is a local application, and has a local installer that can be downloaded from the main Snowflake website. You can download the SMA directly from here:

https://www.snowflake.com/en/data-cloud/snowpark/migration-accelerator/

For more information on how to use the SMA application, check out the SMA User Guide.

Download the CLI

The Command Line Interface (CLI) version of the SMA is the same assessment and conversion engine that is available in the application. The same result is generated, just without the application interface. This version is a local application that is often embedded in automated tasks calling the SMA CLI from scripting tools or scripts.

Download the CLI by using one of the links shown below. Choose the correct installer based on the operating system where you will be putting the CLI.

For more information on how to use the SMA CLI, check out the SMA CLI user guide.

Access Codes and Licensing

The SMA is freely available for both assessment and conversion.

To access the conversion capabilities, an access code will need to be generated. Any user can generate their own access code(s) in the SMA by using the Request an Access Code option in the tool. All that is required is a valid email address. This access code will not be required until the Conversion Setup section of the SMA. To learn more about generating your own access code, receiving it, and using it for Conversion in the SMA, visit the section on Entering and Requesting an Access Code.

Any access code will come from sma-notifications@snowflake.com.

Note that if you are looking for a version of an accelerator that will convert from a SQL database to Snowflake, more information is available in the SnowConvert documentation.

For more information on accessing the SMA, reach out to the SMA team at sma-info@snowflake.com.
