When the Snowpark Migration Accelerator (SMA) is executed for a conversion, it generates the same level of information as it does when it is run in assessment mode. In fact (as described in How the Conversion Works), the exact same process is run through for Conversion as is done for Assessment. Just with the output code now part of the tool's output.
Why is the same amount of information generated? In short, because it's possible to alter the source codebase between the execution of an assessment and the decision to generate the conversion. The most reliable way to ensure that the conversion is accurate for the codebase.
As a result, the output log files, reports, and conversion (assessment) summary screen are all identical to the assessment result. The only difference is the output code that is generated by the tool's conversion mode.
In the application, the conversion summary will show in the Results panel in the application:
As mentioned previously, this is exactly the same as the Assessment Summary. To better understand the conversion assessment output, visit the section Understanding the Assessment Summary.
You can view the reports generated by the SMA by selecting View Reports in the Results page of the application:
The reports will all be in a directory created by the tool. Note that this is exactly the same output that is available with the Assessment. More information on each report can be found in the Output Reports section of the Assessment documentation.
It will undoubtedly be shocking to learn that like the summary and reports, the logs are created just as they are created for the assessment. You can view the logs by selecting View Log Folder.
To learn more about the logs that are available, visit the Output Logs section of the Assessment documentation.
Is that all there is to know about the conversion output? Of course not. Let's look at where the output code will land.
To view the output code, select View Output from the Results page.
