Code Compare
Before and after preview comparison in the application
In both assessment and conversion mode, the Snowpark Migration Accelerator (SMA) can show you a preview of the before-and-after code side by side in the application. This is still in a Private Preview mode, so expect changes to come as improvements come in the conversion capabilities of the accelerator.
Side by Side Comparison
The code comparison feature takes a few files (5 at the most) and shows both the original source file and the converted (output) code file generated by teh SMA.
You can see this comparison in the Code Compare tab in the assessment results page:
There are three sections in the Code Compare screen:
The file list shows the files that the SMA has chosen for the preview. These are not chosen because they are flawlessly converted or because a particular conversion rule has been shown. They are randomly chosen by the tool.
The Source panel shows the original file from the source codebase. The Output panel shows the converted output code.
To see all of the converted code, you will have to execute a conversion.
